Visit Plitvice Lakes National Park on a Daily Tour

Croatia consists of eight national parks, but the most popular among all is the Plitvice Lakes which is exclusive and delightful. A large number of caves and pits are there in the area of the national park. These lakes are a result of the gathering of several small rivers and subterranean karst rivers. The lakes are all interlinked and follow the water flow. The lakes are famous for their unique colors, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue which are linked by cascades and sparkling waterfalls. The colors differ constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight.

There are 16 interconnected lakes between Mala Kapela Mountain and Pljesevica Mountain. The lakes are partitioned into upper and lower lakes. The upper lakes are surrounded by thick forests and connected by numerous waterfalls. The lower lakes are smaller and shallower with less vegetation. The national park is bountiful with flora and fauna. The lakes are plentiful with fish and shellfish but fishing is only allowed in some places and that too with special permission. Most of the area of the National park is covered by forest of beech, fir, spruce and pine. The most fascinating part of the national park comprises the area of around 8 km where the tourist trails are located. The paths are very well maintained. They consist of wooden planks, rocks and steps. Special attraction at Plitvice includes the Veliki Splat, the largest waterfall in the park, a 100 foot waterfall surrounded by nearby boulders to which travelers have access. The highlight of this location is obviously the hiking and walking in the area. But swimming is not allowed in the park. So are you ready for a sightseeing tour?
